question : mac os 9 user going to 7.3 !
I just recently bought a new 2.16 ghz intel Core 2 Duo intel imac and i want to install protools 7.3. My question: would i have to use my old 5.1 protools and then upgrade to 7.3 or should i just get a new 7.3 installer cd? another question: when purchasing online i am confused as to which option to take because it seem they are all named software upgrades .Does a full out 7.3 installation cd exist and if so where can i locate it on avids online store? please guide me ...thanks!! |

Re: question : mac os 9 user going to 7.3 !
You cannot use a 5.1 install disk at all. Check the Digi website for possible upgrade pricing.

Re: question : mac os 9 user going to 7.3 !
I hope you have at least an MBox, becuase 7 does not work with a 001 and you may want to purchase more memory. It looks like the complete install is $75.

If you are in the US, why don't you call their presales phone number and ask them? It seems like a relatively simple question for them.

Ummmm I am pretty sure 7.3.1 will not work on OS9. Another question to ask them when you call.

He isn't planning on using it with OS9. He just bought a new Mac with OSX. Read his entire initial post.

Re: question : mac os 9 user going to 7.3 !
I'm thinking the downloadable installer will install everything. At least the 7.0 version does, if I remember right. Cause I'm thinking I once uninstalled 7.0 from my mac trying to troubleshoot. When I went to reinstall I just used the 7.0 I downloaded from the digistore. It's the authorization code that you're really paying for because without, it you can't start PT. But it wouldn't hurt to call and comfirm. I'm betting worst case scenario is you'd have to download 7.0 first then 7.3.
