import audio from video slow on M2 Mac?

Hi,

anyone experiencing very slow audio import from quicktime movie on M2 Macs? Running PT 2023 rosetta and this is 50x slower than on my old intel 5,1

Depends on the codec. It’s not the Mac it’s the PT version. I imagine you were on an older version on your 5.1 Mac?

I think a lot of us use another program for this. Lots out there but Shutter Encoder is popular and donation-ware.

Yes, maybe the video codec. I just realized that they delivered HEVC UHD files for sound post. What the heck..... You can tell them 100 times that we need DNXHD, but they keep delivering something different every single time...

Working on M1, and everything except apple pro res or dnxhd takes ages to import audio.
