Here is my Sandra Report....
Im posting my sandra report just to see if there is anything anyone might recommend changing or updating. Any info is appreciated, I have a laptop computer
Im going to order a external hard drive from this website this weekend... http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firew...W800_FW400_USB I was wondering though would ANY external hard drive work? I want the quality but if I can save the money itd be nice. And why does a seperate hard drive make such a difference with buffer size complications any way? Re: Here is my Sandra Report....
Just don't go with a USB drive. The eSATA or firewire will be fine. You will likely need an approved TI controller for firewire. Integrated graphics may be an issue for you. Remember Pro Tools for Windows 7 is still in beta. And disable the Wireless while running PT.

Re: Here is my Sandra Report....
Thats cool, no info on the TI controller though? I was going to try the new beta but I wanted to see if I could get this working without downloading an untested version

Re: Here is my Sandra Report....
If you can find the Rosewill RC-612... it's cheaper and has the required Texas Instrument chipset.

Re: Here is my Sandra Report....
That sounds good guys thanks for taking time and giving me advice. I tried turning off my built in wireless connector on my laptop and that gave me a 2 minute recording period before the H/W Buffer Size warning popped up. Hopefully if I get these mentioned items it will work out for the best.
How will I go about hooking up the products though? Would my MBox 2 Mini still be plugged into the USB drive of my computer, and the external hard drive be plugged into the firewire port? Or do I have to get something to plug my mbox into the external drive? Any other opinions based on my sandra report are still appreciated thank you |
