Default Using an Alesis SR16 to trigger BFD in Pro Tools

Hi,

I usually use my Korg PadKontrol to trigger BFD in Pro Tools 6.9 but I have some MIDI patterns in my old drum machine, an Alesis SR16, that I want to use to trigger the BFD sounds.

Can someone walk me through setting up the Alesis in Pro Tools? I thought I added it as a new device but when I try to assign it in a MIDI track, I see it as new device but then it also says something to the effect of "No Channels Activated".

Thanks
