Default Laptop as 2nd Screen with Pro Tools?

What y'all using your laptop's screen display for if using an external monitor?

I have a 16" M3 Max 16/40 MBP (which is killer BTW) with a Samsung 28" monitor as the main screen, and the retina display too, but the MBP screen is a little too small for me to use as the typical mixer view, and prefer to switch to the mixer on the Samsung.

So been using the MBP as a display for Izotope's Insight 2 when mixing or mastering, which is great but feels a little overkill using a retina display for that. Be interested to hear other ideas...

Well I am spoiled because I have two 27 inch displays Now I do have a 14 laptop I tend to agree that it is too small for the mixer view So Myself I would like you put the mixer on the 28. BUT myself I would put the edit view on the MBP given when editing I am usually zoomed in to one section of one track .
Or in your situation I would consider getting another 28 display given the MBP and OS can accommodate 2 external displays

Having the edit screen on the MBP is a good idea, and candidly I did not think of that. I will give it a try, thanks.

I've never got on having 2 large screens, I think I am just so used to using Windows Configs to navigate different views. Also, 2 screens side-by-side seems like my speakers would be too far apart, and not in to the vertical thing. Just me tho...

A screen is just a screen. It doesn't matter that it's a retina display, it's screen real estate. Create window configs to use it for various display arrangements, plugin windows, audio suite plugs, etc, etc. Customize it for your best use for whatever you're doing in Pro Tools. It doesn't always have to be the same. If you're ever working with picure, use it for the video window.

I put the edit and mix windows on my two 27” monitors, and use my laptop screen for transport, Insight2 plug-in and as a workspace when I open plug-in dialogue windows.

Well of course it's all personal preference
But do not find two 27"s side by side to be an issue with my speakers
But then I do like to roll back maybe a ft &1/2 from my desk close my eyes and listen to my speakers

On the the smaller secondary display I will normally have my metering suite showing.

I love your setup. Thanks for sharing it with us. I was searching for the reviews online for https://academized.com/buy-essay website because I want to hire an essay writer who will write an essay assignment for me and when I was searching for it online, I found your post. I really love your setup and that is why I can't stop myself by replying you here.
I love your setup <3
