22.4 + Dolby Audio Bridge going 'snap snap snap'
Heyo
I'm getting some little, quiet repeated snaps, about 2-3 per second, audible on audio that is running from PT via the DAB to the local Renderer, which is playing back through HDX. Mac Pro 2019 12-core, tons of RAM etc, OS10.15.7, Renderer 3.7.2, MTRX Studio. There are a couple of other interfaces - HD OMNI & 192 I/O, both on the second connection to the HDX card. Any theories? |

Re: 22.4 + Dolby Audio Bridge going 'snap snap snap'
Definitely sounds like a clocking issue. There was a recommendation at one point, when using Dolby Audio Bridge alongside DigiLink hardware, to create an aggregate device in Audio Midi Setup so that DAB and the DigiLink hardware could share a common clock. But I thought the need to do that had been eliminated in subsequent DAPS versions. How to set it up was in one of the Pro Tools Expert 6 part Atmos Tutorial articles.
Here is a link to part 1. I'm not sure which of the 6 articles this setup is in.

Don't suppose you're trying to run it at 96k?

Re: 22.4 + Dolby Audio Bridge going 'snap snap snap'
Avid hardware can have a habit of changing settings between Pro Tools and Coreaudio use. It might be worth checking the settings through the Audio Midi Setup panel in OSX just in case the clocking setup between the MTRX, 192 and Omni has changed.
