Alternative to using LLM to disable Software Monitoring

Hi!
I use LLM to mute the direct sound coming through Pro Tools. I do that, because i use an external Mixer for Monitoring.
I have had many issues with LLM over the years (for ex Tracks playing out of Sync when Record enabled) and so i would like to find another solution.
In Logic there is a Preference called "Disable Software Monitoring" which solves my Problem easily.
What are your solutions for Pro Tools (besides buying HDX, monitoring through the DAW or unlink Faders? I need to be able to hear the Audio before and after the Punch In.

Record to another track and mute it during recording. After recording just drag the region on the track you want to record on.

Hi Edwinstar,
I made a tool called ControlPilot that’s takes PT Transport state (Stop/Play/Record) to control a Mute Group in RME Totalmix. Works perfectly for this, only with RME Interfaces though.
