Default PT LE + LE to PT10 crossgrade = PT11 ?

Hey guys,

I still have an old version (LE 7.3) lying around apparently.
If I should buy the LE to 10 crossgrade NOW, am I eligible for the PT11 amnesty/grace upgrade?

I would be registering PT10 after April 7th...

Anyone know a definite answer for this?

Thanks in advance!

Yes. You will get a free upgrade to PT11 if you buy the LE to 10 upgrade.

The price is $399. Remember that you will need the serial number from your hardware LE interface to qualify (002/003/Mbox 2 family).

I have 8 LE. I'm assuming if I don't upgrade now, I'm going to have to pay the full $699 upgrade price down the road?

I'm also kind of confused about the May 28th date that was given in another thread. Is that when 10 will no longer be sold?

Finally, is it purchase date or registration date? I planned on purchasing, but not immediately upgrading (since I need to make time to backup, upgrade to Mountain Lion, etc).

Rob,

You will not have to pay for a full version if you don't upgrade now. Avid has not done that in the past and there's no reason they would do it now.

They've had upgrades from LE to 9, 10, and now 11.

In your situation it doesn't really matter when you upgrade, because it will be the same price and same benefits. If you upgrade now, you'll get an Ilok license for 11 and 10, which you can then use, or you can choose to keep using your LE version (8 or whatever), since 8 and earlier are not Ilok based, you don't surrender anything. The LE upgrade uses the serial number of your hardware LE interface to qualify.

If you wait until after 11 is officially released, you will have exactly the same benefits at the same price. You will get Ilok licenses for 11 and 10, and can keep using 8 or whatever. And it will still be $399.

Ah. I misread on the Avid store the upgrade pricing. One turned out to be $100 more for the upgrade, and I thought it was for 8 and lower, but it's for Pro Tools EX to 10.
