Can someone please answer my M-Powered questions
Hi I downloaded the demo version of PTM and it looks great. I have always been a fan of Pro Tools but have never got around to purchasing it.
1. What plug ins are supported in PTM? Can we use all the same plugins as LE and other verions? 2. What version of Ableton does it come with? And is it anygood copared to the full version? 3. What are all the DAE errors? My pc spec is XP Pro 3.2ghz 1gb RAM 180gb IDE Drive Delta 2496 Card 4. Do we have the ability to apply fx to midi in PTM like SX? 5. Is there an easy way to convert midi to audio in PTM? Thanks |

Re: Can someone please answer my M-Powered questions
1. As long as its a RTAS you're good...
2. Depending on the hardware you get, Aberton 5 (full version) comes with it... I got the Project Mix... 3. Depending on how you have you computer setup, you'll be getting a dialong box letting you know something is wrong... If you do recieve one make sure that you write it down word for word so that someone on this forum can help you or Digidesign Tech service can help... 4. I dont know, I dont have SX... 5. I dont know, I mainly use audio recording whether than using midi instument... Im not a Protools pro but I hope this shedded some light on things...

Re: Can someone please answer my M-Powered questio
If you get a version that comes with live lite (comes with the hardware, I don't remember if it was in the protools copy as well- I have 4 of them...), the new live lite version 5 is cool. It is definitely limited compared to the full version, but you can still do a lot with it. I have not tried it yet, but I believe in 5 you can now trigger via midi, which is relly cool. I have used it live before and had to trigger from the computer keyboard, this will be much better. Also, I believe it can host rewire now too, which means you can add it to reason if you want. Hopefully those are correct. Also, with live lite, there is a half price upgrade to the full version.

Re: Can someone please answer my M-Powered questio
Pro Tools LE/MP uses RTAS plugins....a lot of which are VERY nice IMHO..
Check out the Producer Factory Pro pack. PT can also use VST plugins via the VST-RTAS adapter from Fxpansion. Version 2 works well from what I hear and you'll need it if you will be running PT 7.x versions. Both PT LE and Mpowered can use the same RTAS plugins, although some are only avalable for Mac(thankfully the gap is now closing) Midi fx plugins..PT does not support this feature...yet. Although you can use midi groove templates to create some interesting rythmic variety. Ableton Live..currently LE and Mpowered owners get Live Lite v5.0 and as previously mentioned, I beleive you can get the full version if you spend enough money on the hardware. If you already have an Maudio
