OS trouble after using Mbox Micro
Hi, I just got an Mbox Micro and everything runs fine while i'm using it but when I turn the computer off after i'm done, the screen goes grey and tells me I need to restart the computer. When the computer turns back on it says that OSX quit unexpectedly. This doesn't happen when i use my 003, just the Mbox Micro.
I have a MacBook Pro with a 2.4GHz Processor, 2 GB RAM, and I'm running OSX 10.5.6 when the screen goes grey it fades grey from the top to the bottom and you can still see the desktop through the grey a little. The alert that comes up say something like "Mac OSX has quit unexpectedly. Please press the restart button or hold the power button for several seconds." and it says it in 5 different languages. Anyone else ever encounter this? |

Re: OS trouble after using Mbox Micro
try running Disk Utility and then restart your computer. I have the MBP 2.5 and I also use the micro.. I have never run into this issue. If you are using PT8 and 10.5.6 that might be the cause because it's not certified. Digi suggest 10.5.5

Re: OS trouble after using Mbox Micro
This happens to me a lot. I think it's due to the plugging in and unplugging of the Micro/Mbox2 (it happens with both for me). I think I read somewhere that these interfaces aren't really meant to used like that (i.e. flash drives). But it's hard because I can't keep it plugged in all the time.
Something I have been doing that seems to work is to log out (not restart), plug interface in and then log in. There is absolutely no logic behind this but so far so good.

Re: OS trouble after using Mbox Micro
I have trying to make this happen on my MBP 2.5. No problems here I plug my micro on the left front (nearest) USB and I have my iLok on the right.
I also use the Usb extender for safety reasons.
