Default Could not allocate memory for the disk cache problem

Hello fellow Protools users. This issue is making my current recording time to be about nil. A brief equipment run down. Using Windows 7, service pack 1, I5four core, with the Eleven Rack as my interface.

I purchased the Eleven with Protools 10.3 over a year ago, and been very happy with it for my recording needs. About a month ago I received the error message in quotes below. I searched the forum and found others that had the same error, and ran through the solution given below as steps 1 thru 4.

I followed the steps, and still received the same error. The crazy part is if I uninstall and reinstall version 10.3, it works the first launch, but gives the same error message any time after that. I also noticed the Eleven was ghosted on Protools input selection. It's still an option, and I select it as my input, and start recording. I don't remember this happening before , and it doesn’t make since that the user would have to reselect after each boot.

I hope the ghost issue gives a hint with others that have experienced this problem, or have a better insight than I’ve come up with. I'm open to any suggestions. Regards.

""Could not allocate memory for the disk cache. Try lowering your disk buffer(DAE buffer), disk cache size, or engine voice count. If you got this error on launch, delete your prefs and try again. (-9514)""

Solution given, but no-go

1. Browse to My computer/c:/program files/Digidesign/Pro Tools/Databases/Unicode/Volumes. Delete all the files in this folder.
2. Browse to C:/documents and settings/ your user name/appdata/roaming/digidesign. Delete the file called “protools v. X.X preferences.ptp”.
If you don’t see this file/folder, Click start/control panel/folder options/view, select “show hidden files and folders”. Refresh the folder, if need be.
3. Browse to my computer/c:/program files/common files/digidesign/DAE. Delete the DAE prefs folder.
4. Empty the Trash, and restart the computer. Then relaunch Pro Tools to get a new set of preferences and reset your settings.

So did you try trashing pref and databases?

Have you done any of the suggested optimizations?

Are you launching with Run As Admin?

Are you recording to a secondary hard drive or the system drive?

Did you try defaulting the I/O?

What version of PT are you on? Have you tried updating to the latest version? (Pro Tools 10.3.5) Have you updated drivers?
