Default 192 i/o w/888/24 sample rate

Hi... I was wondering if I can use a 192 i/o with a 96k session and an 888/24 hooked up to the legacy port. I know the 888/24 only goes to 48k - but will it function with the 192 i/o running at >48k? I only want to use the analog outputs of the 888/24 so I'm not concerned about truncating the bits or using the inputs.

If not - what's the cheapest way I can get 8 more analog outputs? I have 2 A/D cards and 1 D/A card in the 192 already. Something like a Behringer ADA 8000? I know the quality is low, but it's just for headphones.
