Default If You\'ve Got The VST to RTAS Wrapper...

You may want to get TapeIt 2 .

Cheers,

i don't get it. what functionality does it add?

by the way, fx freeze does the same thing and more for about the same price.

TapeIt 2 = $19
FX Freeze = $59

Big difference.

Now I don't get it.

TapeIt 2 allows you to create a wav straight from a track, while FX Freeze will let you free up any CPU being hogged by a plug-in not currently in use.

So where's the comparison?

Both look rather good (though I'm sure I've got a freebie version of TapeIt 2 somewhere). Do you use FX Freeze dB? How good is it?

What's the purpose of FX freeze when you can record the track and make it inactive ??? Is it faster with FX freeze or what ?

Unfortunately, it seems that no-one's tried it yet with Pro-Tools.

they have a demo. it works well with cubase. i don't have the vst wrapper so i don't know how it works with PT.

you can freeze a track or a plugin, which is cool, but you must record it in real time. if you freeze a plugin, you can still control the track parameters (vol, pan, inserts, sends), but if you freeze a track, you can't. in cubase, you can freeze an instrument and still have control over track functions but it takes LONGER than real time. i never figured that one out...

the other thing about fx freeze is that when used in cubase or nuendo, the frozen audio gets saved to a folder inside the session folder automatically. in all other programs, you have to create and specify the frozen audio folder each time you use it (with a new session).

OK -I don't get it ...

TapeIt 2 expands the possibilities of your audio software by adding exciting new export features:

Use TapeIt as a channel insert plugin for quick track bouncing or freezing.
Track bouncing - assign all tracks you want to bounce out a bus - record that bus input.
Track freezing - turn the voice off on the track

Export accurate mix-downs in realtime. And listen while exporting.
Bounce to disk - or recording your mix to a new track does exactly this.

Record your VST instruments in realtime while playing.
You can already do this in PT as well.

Put TapeIt before and/or after an effect plugin to record the dry and/or wet signal.
Again, you can record anything you can hear in pro-tools, including reverb and effects.

Use TapeIt to monitor any specific point in the signal chain.
Solo - CTRL+CLICK a plugin to disable it

Use more than one instance of TapeIt simultaneously (e.g. do multiple track bounces at once).
Key-Features Route Drums out bus 1+2, Guitars out Bus 3+4, Vocals out 5+6
Record busses 1-6 on 3 stereo tracks.

Various WAV formats: 8, 16 and 24 integer, 32 bit float. Mono and stereo.
Synchronized recordings. Four different synchronization sources.
Generating time stamped files (using broadcast wave format).
Manual and automatic recording level adjustment.
Automatic normalizing.
Integrated dithering.
Drag and drop of recorded files.
Waveform display.
This is ALL built right into pro-tools -

Am I missing something ?? let me know please.
