Exclamation Cannot edit in play in PT10, like in PT7 and PT9. Why?

Hi, I've been a PT user for 14 years (film sound editor) and I just bought PT10 and I have a huge problem. In PT7 and PT9 I could (and still can) edit everything on the fly - trimming, muting, fading, crossfading regions, while PT is in PLAY, with "Link Timeline and Edit Selection" enabled (I almost never turn it off). I cannot do this in PT10!!! Every time I even click on the timeline, PLAY stops and starts from that point! It would be really painful to edit that way.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, maybe it's a bug, maybe it's just something new in PT. Does anybody know something about this, or has anybody experienced the same?

I thought it is about Complete Production Toolkit, which I want to buy anyway, but the tech support replied this - „The function you are talking about is available without any other further purchase. You can edit, trim or cut during the play, but you will need to play in loop the portion you want to play and edit at the same time.“

Well, in PT7 and PT10 you didn't have to be in loop mode to do this, why would you be in loop mode all the time while editing trough the session....Tnx for any help, advice or direction for all this.

Hi, Do you have Dynamic Transport enabled under Options?

Chris

Can't imagine what you are doing wrong, but rest assured, all that stuff works in 10

Thank you Chris a lot! This solved my problem. I didn't know this "Dynamic transport" option exists at all, and PT10 obviously came with this enabled. So simple, thanx again!

Martin.
