iLok Not Recognized [resolved]
I've been using my second generation iLok for some time now on my old iMac with no issues. I just got a new iMac and although the iLok lights up when I plug it into the USB port, Pro Tools is not recognizing it. I see it activated in the iLok manager, and I tried it in several USB ports, but Pro Tools still does not recognize it. I have activated licenses for both PT 10 and !!. My old iMac can't handle 11, but it recognizes it for 10, but the new iMac doesn't recognize either. Please advise. I've long hated having to use iLok, even though it works, it seems an unnecessary step, but now it's maddening, and there's no way on the iLok page to actually contact anyone for help.

Thanks for responding, Craig. I did install the license manager--not sure if that includes a driver. Is the driver something separate to install?

as far as I know they are combined in the same installer
ILM will see it but Pro Tools will not, will the System Profiler see it?

The new iMacs have nothing but USB3 ports. Aren't these known to be problematic with iLok? I think the simple solution is to pick up a USB2 hub, plug that into the USB3 port, and plug the iLok into the hub.

Thanks, guys, yes, the system profiler recognizes it, but PT does not. I'll try that hub suggestion and see if it works.

Thanks again for the suggestion to work through a USB 2 Hub. I tried that and it works like a charm! Much, much appreciated advice!
