Akai spdif problem
When I record spdif out on my S5000 to the 001, the resulting sound is colored. It makes the samples sound VERY dark. Could this be a clocking or jitter issue? Or could it be because the Akai uses a 1/4" dual AES/SPDIF conecter. I tried both the "consumer" and "pro" settings on the S5K and internal and spift settings in PT.
Very frustrating because I would love to bypass the S5K's D-A's. Anybody else have a problem with this? I found other posts regarding problems with spdif on Roland gear (5050, etc.) and Emu (Proteus 2K). What's going on here?
