Please help if anyone can. I finished one session and opened another. In the middle of the session opening, I got a kernel panic...

Hadn't seen one in a while, but it happens. i restarted, now EVERY single time I try and launch ProTools 9, i get a kernel panic on the DAE section of the startup sequence.

Any thoughts?

Willing to try all sorts of stuff as I am in the middle of a massive project.

Have you done any troubleshooting?

Trashed prefs, dbs, etc?

yes, sorry. should have mentioned that. but i will run through all those steps again for good measure.

left the studio for a bite. re-did all the steps. the kernel panics seem to have gone away.

but strangely getting some unexpected quits of the program. that IS actually progress though.

What are your setup specs? There is nothing to go on here.

Your site says you are using Leopard 10.5 and PT8.

Try holding the SHIFT key while you open the session. That will make all plugins inactive. The make plugins active again, row by row until you figure out which plugin causes the issue, and either update or remove that plugin.

i am in the middle of this project and won't have a free day til late december.

anywho... like i had said, the kernel panics seem to have gone away for now. I found someone else on another forum that was having the same issue. PM'd him to see if his went away as well.
