G5 crashes when 6 Waves plugins are added

I am new to the Apple/Pro tools stuff so I need some help. Here is my problem anytime I start adding 6 to 10 or more Waves plugins to my session, my computer becomes unstable and crashes(9073, 6097, 6084). This is happening without any audio added either. I am running a G5, single 1.8 with Panther 10.3.1, 1 gig of RAM, pro tools 6.2.2, and waves 4.0.5 and the new est wave shell. I contacted waves this morning and they tested me out and said that I was fine from a Waves stand point. My CPU meter starts out at 5% with an empty session and after 6 or 7 plugins are added it gets to 35% or so and crashes. Waves says its something with my settings in my computer. Here they are ,I varied them and tried this several different ways, my playback is 1024 all the way down to 128, CPU at 99% or 85% , sessions at both 16 and 24 bit and 44 and 48hz. No matter what I do it still crashes, Can any one save the day? I am new to this so please be easy on you explanations, I might get confused. THANKS P.S. What is the normal amout of RTAS plugins one expect to run in a session, my sessions are real small and easy ones.

turn ur processor speed to highestin utitillitys

i dunno if you fixed this by now (hopefully you did) but i was having this same problem, how did you fix it if you don't mind me asking? turning up your processor to the highest setting is accomplished under apple, system preferences, energy saver, options, processor performance > HIGHEST. i keep having the same problem and it shouldn't be happening with a G5 so....
