Default PC 001 to Mac- ProTools Free

Hey All:

I had a buddy of mine record some scratch acoustic tracks with a click on my PC with 001. My drummer wants to import it to his MAC with Pro-Tools free.

I attempted to transfer the PT files via CD-ROM to his MAC but it wouldn't recognize the audio files. I had the "Enable MAC PC compatability" box checked when I saved the sessions...

Any hints, tips, or solutions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Scott

If memory serves.. in Save Session Copy In when you selct PT 5 as the file export type.. it automatically creates AIFF files so the Mac can read them. PT 5.0 didn't support WAV files.

Rail,
I was thinking that PT Free wasn't available for XP yet, and any sessions created in 5.3 and above couldn't be exported to PT Free. I haven't checked on this for awhile now. If you were working in PTLE 5.1 or below you should be able to export. See the Best System for PTLE thread on PC to Mac transfer tips and tricks too.

Right.. his drummer has PT/Free on his OS 9 Mac... but the only version of PT/Free is v5.0

Didn't think that PT 5.0 supportd the PC .pts session format... so I don't know how Save Session Copy In handles the PT 5.0 Mac resource fork.
