Several people here have reported that they have PT 9 working with XP.

Several people in various places have stated that they drive nails with screwdrivers.

That doesn't work very well either...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Trust me, don't even think about installing pt9 on an xp os.
You will never get an earlier version of pt on That os again without a ghost backup or reinstalling the complete os. Not gonna say I've tried it, too embarrassing. it even says not to do this and will cause you to have to reinstall your os. Don't ask me how I know.

My music computer is XP. All of my other software works fine with XP. I already have a Mbox 2 which works fine. I don't want to update my OS to Windows 7 because I know that some of my other software will have issues with it. Oh well, I'll just have to wait a while.

Thanks for the replies.

With all due respect, I call BS on that one.

Pt9 will not work. Do not be fooled into trying it. If you do, you will suffer the consequences. You have been forwarned.

Oh yeah, thats reasonable.....because it didnt work for you, it's BS if someone else says it works for them.

I installed PT9 on a XP machine, got a warning about compatibility, finished installing and it ran fine.

Oh really? whats more reasonable. Two knuckleheads says it works form them when avid clearly states that is doesn't. Wonder how many people got it working on xp.

If you got it working on xp, prove it, wth unrefutable evidence. Then I'll eat my words, and so will avid. Until then good day, sir.
