8.0.4 + 002R = broken ASIO..

i cant get 8.0.4 installed because it wont install drivers to mbox 2 pro. maybe thats a good thing @ this point. my question is how do you roll back to 8.0.3 which i was using. i saw the updater setting a restore pt. before half installing 8.0.4 . is that the way to go, or uninstall in add & remove. i"m afraid i'll end up like someone in this thread going back to the original 8 disc & starting over i realize,

I tested out 8.0.4cs2. both in p4 / 003r and i5 / 002r machine.
Exactly the same problem.
Unusable asio.
I hope it's not intentional.

here pt 804 cs 2 - 003 - xp working properly on asio mode with reaper 372 - record 15- reason 5- ableton 7- fl 9 as stand alone or rewire - also connecting video player used usb -also work with raxntrack - audacity- sonar and acid 7 for stand alone - sometime 003 freeze but re load and system re fresh

Can we get a Sandra report of a machine that is running 7 64 that has no problems. One that has zero-latency monitoring and midi working, with no ASIO issues.

I never heard of such a machine.

new avid 002/003 driver for windows v.9.265 (or v.9) have some issues...(midi input disappears when click "ok" on asio control panel, and no direct monitoring...)

in my fist case:
- 003R
- MB Asus P5K (1394 FW integrated VIA 6308P)
- win xp pro sp3 32bit
- digi asio driver v.7.4

works perfectly for all third party audio apps like cubase5, soundforge, etc! no audio or midi problems with 003, both in recording multichannel and playback, everything ok!



is not the same in this my new case:

- 003R
- MB Asus P7P55D-E (1394 FW integrated VIA 6308P check! is the same chip of P5K!)
- win 7 sp1 64bit
- avid asio driver v.9 or v.9.265 or 8.0.4beta all version have some issues...(Unfortunately digi asio v.7.4 can not be installed on win7, can only be installed on winxp)

windows 7 avid optimization guide: do it full!
tried alternative windows 7 optimization tricks (black viper, focusrite, etc): do it!

this the test results and related issues on my new sistem:

1) asio v.9:
- audio playback in cubase5 have some "clicks'n'pops" issue
- midi input of 003 (5pin) disappears from cubase5 when click "ok" button on 003 asio control panel issue
- in soundforge v.10 the graphic don't move! audio playback is ok, but the graphic don' t move in real time, it is frezed like a photo! issue

2) asio v.9.265: same issue like v.9

3) asio v.8.0.4beta:
- audio playback in cubase5 now is ok no "clicks'n'pops" solved
- remain the problem of midi input (003 5pin input) disappears from cubase5 when click "ok" button on 003 asio control panel, not solved!
- soundforge graphic now is ok! realtime movement! solved


Who is creating the problem? new Windows 7 64bit? avid new drivers (from v.8 to v.9)? or both together?


we all hope for an update as soon as possible by AVID, or sell 003 and buy RME Fireface 800, because we can not stay with winxp32bit and only 2GB of memory!

This is my PC report, if there really can be useful in this case:

-mb: asus p7p55d-e (1394a firewire integrated chip VIA 6308P, same chip on asus P5K that works perfectly on WinXP32)

-cpu: intel i5 760 2.8-8mb (quadcore)

-memory: 2gbX2=4gb corsair dominator DDR3 1600 dual channel

-video: Ati sapphire HD5450 silent 1gb DDR2 PCI

-harddisk: 1_OS: 500gb sata3 6gb/s 32mb, 2_audio: 640gb sata3 6gb/s 64mb

- OS: windows 7 64bit ultimate SP1

- MB drivers installed: all official latest updates on asus website (intel chipset, sata controllers, usb, via chipset, etc..)

- Video drivers: tested original cd driver and latest update on Ati website

Digi tell me is the Avid company is working to solve the problems of latest 003R driver... so I calm down and not spend hours tweaking my pc with Windows 7 trying to solve....
