Warning: PT looses Auto when changing channel-order
Quick Bug warning:
- set preferences to "Plug-In Controls Defaults to Auto-Enabled" - create a stereo track - instantiate a multi-mono Avid channelstrip on slot B - instantiate a plugin that changes channel-order of track (e.g. cargocult spanner 2.0 -> 5.1) - note how the channelstrip switched from a multi-mono stereo to a 5.1 multi-channel instance (not a 5.1 multi-mono as you would expect) - note how the entire channelstrip automation has lost its enabled state (Plug-in is 'green') I mixed 2 episodes of a show like this only to find that my entire EQ automation on the tracks in question had not been written. But the truly disturbing thing happend even later, when I hade set all parameters into 'auto-enabled', fixed all content on those tracks and continued mixing episode 3 and 4. When I revisited the show later for M&Es, I found that the channelstrip instances had lost their enabled state *yet again*. Easily the most terrifying experience for a mixer to have lost automation like that. The above section is reproducible, this later one only happens over time. Please AVID, have a look at this one. I think PIs should simply be deleted if they are sitting after an instance of something that changes the channel order so everyone is forced to built the chain from scratch after that. Thx + Best Gregor |
