Default Sq6 & pt11

Hej,

How to handle recording latencys with a native PT11 Setup on MacOSX?

Is the alignment destroyed when

a) using PlugIns on the DAW tracks
b) using plug Ins on the DAW master bus
c) a) & b)
?

In a deeper sense: Which PIs are recognized for latency compensation, which don´t.
Where to doublecheck during the recording inside the software?

THX

Go to View>Mix Window and check "Delay Compensation" so you can see what latency values are actually happening. If you see numbers higher than 10-11 samples, then you probably should make the offending plugin(s) inactive while tracking(recording). Also, plugins on the MASTER track are not compensated for(and usually do not need to be). Remember that Delay Compensation works by pushing everything LATER to match the track with the most latency(this is why you would make plugins inactive while tracking). The other 2 things that will cause latency are:
1-Higher buffer settings(try to stay at 128 or 64 while tracking)
2-bogus Delay Comp caused by a send that goes nowhere(say you had put a send on a guitar track to feed an AUX track with a chorus plugin, then you changed your mind and deleted the AUX track. If the send is still in place, it can confuse the compensation calculations)
