Please help me with fast track+essential

HI EVERYONE,
YESTERDAY I BOGUHT THE NEW FAST TRACK MKII..
I'VE INSTALLED IT ON A PC RUNNIN' WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SP3.

I'VE BEEN TRYED INTERNET DRIVER AN CD'S TOO.

EVERYTHING IS OK I CAN HEAR MUSIC FROM IT...
BUT THE BIG PROBLEM IS THAT AFTER I'VE INSTALLED PRO TOOLS M-POWERED ESSENTIAL , WHEN I TRY TO OPEN IT I GET A MESSAGE
IT SAYS:

UNABLE TO FIND YOUR M-AUDIO HARDWARE, PLEASE MAKE SURE IT'S CONNECTED AND TURN IT ON!!!!

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP

I CAN'T OPEN PRO TOOLS!!!
SOUNDCARD IS PERFECTLY WORKING AND TURNED ON....WHY I GET THAT KIND OF ERROR???

i've tryed everything you told me but i can't open pro tools m powered 8 still...
my windows xp says connected but when i click on pro tools i still get the same error....


i don't know what to do....

Suggerimenti per migliorare le prestazioni
Attenzione 100 : Per sistemi con grandi quantitativi di memoria si consiglia l'utilizzo di moduli Registrati/Bufferizzati.

First make sure you close every other application running on the pc, then try opening pro tools again.

Try disabling the onboard soundcard (or whatever original soundcard that you had before) from the control panel or the device manager (if you know how to do that).

If that doesn't work, did you try re-installing pro tools ? maybe try a different location for the install.

do you have the latest drivers for the "Fast Track USB" from http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=...drivers&f=1028 ? try reinstalling them.

Try changing the usb port your using on your pc see if that does change anything.

Restart your pc.

Anyways I just baught mine a few days ago too and its working fine (windows vista sp2).

it's probably obvious but the software will only open when your actual interface is connected via usb. Otherwise you will get that exact message.
Try another usb port if it is indeed connected when you have that problem.

hey guys i've tryed to reinstall pro tools lot's of times, so i decide to install m-powered 8 full and i get the same error....i've cleaned up my pc...i've reinstalled windows too with no original soundcard's driver and i get the same error...i think i've switched to every usb port but nothing....there's no solution....

i've installed the driver on my laptop (windows vista home premium sp2) and it works fine i get no errors .....at the moment i only can say that fast track mkII doesn't work with windows xp........i repeat i've formatted my hd too and reinstalled fast track and pro tools too but nothing...

on the about tab of the Fast Track control panel, what is the audio driver version number?

Do you have Internet Explorer 8 installed?

i don't have ie8...i didn't install it....i have 7
the version of the driver is the last one i dowloaded form m-audio support center : panel 1.0.2.1...

What is the audio version though? 5.1.??? 5128v4 is the latest driver for XP SP3. I just tested with that driver and PTE opens. If you have a previous version, make sure you select Windows XP SP3 when downloading the driver from the site.
