Do a search in the DUC on "jkaudio",that should provide you with a link to the free plug you are looking for.

It's a useful tool.

Cheers,

Ragged.

Also, a separate program available for spectrum analysis (among other useful tools) is Pinguin Audio Meters (PC)(Standalone). I Love it. I'm sure there is a link somewhere on here. I will look for it myself.

Default Is There a Spectrum Analyzer Plug-In?

I've looked through the "Products" section at this site and can't find any spectrum analyzer plug-ins. I remember a while back, somebody posted who had actually written one and it was available free at his site, but I can't find the post.

Anyway, free or not, I find spectrum analyzers useful for several things and would like to find one that works with PT. I thought Metric Halo made one, but I can't, for the life of me, find it. Can anyone help?

Waves PAZ analyzer does the job pretty well.
It has plenty of resolution and allows you to view the spectrum as peak or rms.
You can also click on a spike and PAZ will display the frequency. With a Q10 on screen as well, (use shift to see 2 plugs at once) you can make some usefull EQ decisions. Just don't EQ because it looks right. A confident set of ears are worth more than any analyzer

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'll have to look into the Waves PAZ and SpectraFoo. I did a search on jkaudio and ultimately ended up finding his page. Some of you other folks might be interested in the plug-ins (they're available for free download). Here's the link:

jkaudio's free plug's (thanks, jk!)

Thanks guys for good review.
Don't waste time with PAZ. Try SpectraFoo for pro measurement.

Cheers
