Digi 001 Sync\'d to Triton Rack?
Can anyone help?!
I want Digi 001 to slave tempo to pattern/arpeggiator out of Triton Rack so that recorded audio bar/grid is aligned. Can't get Digi 001 to slave to Midi output from Triton. Is it possible? Have tried all options in manual to no avail greatly appreciate any help Cheers |

Re: Digi 001 Sync\'d to Triton Rack?
Pro Tools can only sync to SMPTE or MIDI TimeCode (MTC); HW sequencers/kybds generally only send MIDI Clock, which PT cannot sync to. However, PT can SEND MIDI Clock. So, try this instead: in PT MIDI menu, tell it to send MIDI Clock on appropriate output/chan for your Triton. Then (assuming this is possible) set Sync Mode of the Triton to "slave", "ext", or whatever they call it, so that it slaves its tempo to PT (rather than vice versa).

Paora:
In the Triton, go to Global Mode:MIDI. Set Local Control to "Off" and Check the "External Sync" button. This way, you are Sync'ing the Triton tempo from Pro Tools. When PT is playing and you have a Triton MIDI track enabled, when you play the keyboard, the Arp. will play in sync. Let me know if you have any other questions! hyp0static |

Re: Digi 001 Sync\'d to Triton Rack?
Hey,
SoundWrangler is exactly right. I just did a whole album for a dude using only his Triton keyboard. We synced the 001 to the run the Triton via MIDI Clock. Just set the Triton's MIDI to "external" and ProTools to MIDI clock in the MIDI menu. Push play and the Triton will follow along just like a little puppy! Also, use the 2 bars count in, when you record your tracks, so the Triton is receiving info for 2 bars just to make sure some notes are not missed when you record the tracks. If you don't sometimes the Triton would not lock instantly and we missed a few notes till it locked. After all tracking is done in ProTools, you might want to insert silence of 100ms at the beginning of all tracks as the audio will be right at the beginning otherwise and you just might miss a little something in the bounce. Just might, not saying you will, but you might. Thanks, Most Humble, Dave |
