plug-in delay calculator
Hi,
Just read a thread on the UAD plugs and their delay comp plugs, got me thinking, Is there any such plug you can get for pt so you dont have to pull out the same plug again and again to make up? Just a thought! |

Re: plug-in delay calculator
I haven't seen one but don't forget, many RTAS plugins have no delay.

Re: plug-in delay calculator
It seems like a "reverse" time adjuster plugin would be the best solution to this problem (next to automatic delay compensation).
Instead of adding delay like the current time adjuster plug does (which needs to be added to all other tracks in the session - what a pain!) a "reverse" time adjuster plugin would just nudge the track that has the plugin delay earlier in the session by the delay amount. Add a "sync" button to the plug that would automatically pick up the total delay incurred by all delay-causing plugins on the track and nudge the track forward by the corresponding amount. I know... It will never happen, but it seems like it could be done. |

Re: plug-in delay calculator
I don't have access to PT at the moment, so I'm just going by memory. In the Mix window above the track name there is a display that usually indicates "vol", if you command-click (don't know the PC version) on the display it will toggle between "vol", "pk", and "dly", "dly" is the delay for that channel strip. Select the regions for the track in the Edit window and go to Shift in the Edit menu and shift the region by the number of samples in the dly display. Its really easier than it sounds.
