Default Music Production Toolkit - worth it?

I'm debating whether or not it's worth it? Not so much for the 48 track capability but more about the plugins included. Smack seems interesting and the idea of finally having a decent reverb is appealing. Any thoughts from those who've dished out the extra $500? Thanks...

TL space is nice for some things, but it's not a Holy Grail of reverbs. It becomes metallic-sounding very easily, once you tweak the settings a bit. But if there's no need to tweak and the natural reverb suits your track, then it sounds absolutely beautiful. If not worth 500 dollars, easily worth half that.

Smack is useless - I wouldn't pay anything for it, so consider it a freebie.

The best deal is the 48 track. I don't like Smack either, but as always, it's a matter of taste. TL reverb is good, but there re better (always tastes...) But the 48 tracks .... Wow, that's priceless. For everything else, there is mastercard, as the add says...
The improvement in Beat detective is also very good. I don't have it, but I install it (MPT) at a client's 002R studio.

I read that too.
In my case, I worked on my client' studio with his settings, including only one external hard drive (Lacie d2), he has a g5 dual processor 2Ghz, 1.5 of RAM, PT 7.1 if I remember well. I didn't get to the limit, but definetily above the 32 voices limit, and I edited and mixed, and the system worked perfect, smooth.

May I object to that and the other low opinions on it!
Smack is really cool!

Admitted not for mastering purposes but for musical effects it´s great and it´s not a general tool, too. Although I agree, too that it is not worth the standalone $395 selling price. I´d say It´s worth about $100 compared to the McDSP Compressorbank LE which goes for about $179.

Seems to me the limitations of TL Space have to do with the quality of the specific impulse samples. Certain ones sound amazing. Others seem to suffer from poorly colored mics/and or speakers used to do the sample.

I find Smack occasionally useful. Full Beat Detective also comes in handy once in a while.

I got MPT for $425 and I feel it was totally worth it. Mostly I was needing the extra tracks, so I don't know if I would still feel that way if I was only buying the plugs.

Guys,
Quick question:

Can you use Altiverb IR's with TL Space?
Reason I ask is I will be moving to Intel Mac with the MPT and altiverb is not ported yet.
Thanks,

I think Altiverb is incompatible, but I know that Waves IR's are compatible with TL Space -- that's for sure.
