16 Core Mac Pros coming?

I would probably sell my car and buy one of these... My 8 core is so strong, I can only imagine what a 16 core would do..

Oh Crap!!! I agree that seems like a closer than normal time frame, but that has to be the LGA2011 socket Ivy Bridge.

It sounds like they may be getting an exclusive on the newer socket CPU's. They did have a 2 year agreement back in 2006 during the Intel transition that gave them a certain time frame of exclusivity. Perhaps they have signed some new agreement.

And next year they will have a 20 core...I'm just waiting it out with my rock solid 8 core.

I personally think they wont at least until the fall. It is slated for Q3 some time, some people have said possibly as late as Q1 of 2012. I just dont see it coming. That said, i am saving for a dual Xeon build
