I'm sure there is, however I found Toast to be very simple and worth the $$$. Have you checked the Apple website?

I think it's the partions messing with your process. I burn data DVD's all the time with no issues. I leave 3X's the space I need to burn

Make sure to (periodically - I actually do it daily) check http://www.versiontracker.com (or similar) for new commercial software, shareware and freeware. Make use of the search feature.

I personally do not like the implementation of the MacOSX burning capability. You may just find exactly what you need searching for "DVD".

I repartitioned my drive and it did not help with burning DVDs, even with 3x+ the space on the system partition. The burn process went a little further, but I still ended up with an error resulting in a coaster (whereas the original problem simply wouldn't burn anything at all, thus saving the disk). No problems using toast (5.2.1, no lower). My DVD burner is Firewire, so that could make a difference. If you haven't already, check out xlr8yourmac and read up on dvds there.

Hello,

I bought a Pioneer DVR-106D and have had similar problems with both the drag n'drop method and with Toast 5.2.
I ended up trying a program called "Dragon Burn" and have had no problems. Check it out. They have a full functioning demo to try.

Good Luck,
Mark
