Waves preference dialog window wont go away
I have waves super tap 8.0 and LoAir 8.0.
I tried a noise reduction demo and had to download their 9.0 software update. After that update, the waves preference dialog window always appears when I launch pro tools. It has the box checked "Don't show this dialog window again". I uninstalled and deleted all waves files and trashed PT prefs. I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with this problem windows 7 64 bit pro tools 10.2 |

Re: Waves preference dialog window wont go away
Same here after installing NLS (v9) on top of an existing mixed v8 / v9 installation.
I solved a similar error I had before (it kept asking for the Waves Plugin Folder without accepting my selection) by doing a clean install of the Waves plugins starting from lowest to highest version (although I thought that I did everything correctly, but somehow possibly I didn't). |

Re: Waves preference dialog window wont go away
I had a similar problem. Upon contacting waves
Here is the direct info from Waves that corrected the issue (of course change the plug in to be yours): I suggest we get a fresh start, let's remove Waves completely and reinstall. Please take these steps to completely remove Waves from your PC: If you created your own presets, saved to a preset menu, And you wish to save them, Please copy the 'Plug-ins Settings' folder, located at : C:\Program Files\Waves\Plug-Ins - And paste it on to your desktop. Also if you have any Saved IR acoustics save the following folders located at: C:\Program Files\Waves\Plug-Ins IR1Impulses IR1Impulses V2 Acoustics.net Impulses And paste them on to your desktop as well. 1. Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove anything of Waves. (Start > Settings > Control Panels > Add/Remove Programs) 2. Go to Program Files and delete the Waves folder. (My Computer > Hard Drive > Program Files > Waves) 3. Go to the Start Menu > Search > For all files and folders. Make a search for "Waveshell". Delete any entry you may find. 4. Empty the recycle bin. Now we will need to reinstall Waves. Here is a link to download "Waves Online/Offline Installer" V9. When you get to "Installation Type Menu", check CLA Classic Compressors, GTR Solo, Kramer Tape, Tubes & Transsitors, Platinum, Studio Classics Collection and Kramer Signature only, scroll down to Single Plug-Ins and check Aphex Aural Exciter, Bass Rider, C6, Center, Debreath, IR-1 and Vocal Rider only. After re-installation place the folders, the one we backed up, back to their original locations. Launch Pro Tools and when prompt for the "Waves Preferences 9.1.0" check Don't Ask Me Again option only.

Re: Waves preference dialog window wont go away
You don't need to uninstall Waves Plugins to fix it.
Quit ProTools / any other audio app running and go to the hidden folder C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\Waves Audio\Preferences you'll probably see you have more than one preference for Waves AAX shell (due to previous version installs) just delete everthing and run ProTools. You'll be prompted once again with the preferences window, it will recreate the file you deleted but the window will disappear at the next launch. |
