Default MC Artist joystick panner?

I am recent convert to the MC Artist controllers, and I am kind of curious as to why there isnt a joystick panning module.... I would think a lot of folks in the film/tv and game marketshare would be really interesting to get one of those... I know I would be.......

Indeed, I was also thinking about it! That's the one thing missing!

Agreed. I'd buy one but you do have the pan page of the mc control touch screen for now. Also, maybe avid is trying to sell more of the jl copper panners? Those will work with pt and eucon.

The AVID Joysticks work via Midi not Eucon. And the pan window in PT doesn't follow the joystick selection. Pretty lame for a 1,5k€ panner.
The pan screen on the control is pretty useless because it's a small round field which makes it impossible to do an intuitive pan from left to right front while watching the picture. You have about 1cm of space between left and center. And you have to land on the spot. One millimeter off and your signal partly goes to the surrounds.

If it was full screen and front left is in the far left corner you could at least feel when you hit hard left.

But in it's current form it's only usable for random crazy stuff that don't relate to picture.

Frank.

I just use v-control for panning or I pan with my track ball.

I forget where on the DUC it was but I remember someone saying that they use the Apple Magic Trackpad for surround panning. They used it in conjunction with another program which clicked and dragged at a certain screen location, then released once the touch stopped. I haven't been able to recreate what they were talking about, though. Sounds awesome!
