Default Leopard 7.4.2 on 1.42 G4 Anyone?

Was wondering if anyone was successfully running Pro Tools on Leopard on a G1.42 PPC?
I've checked the compatibility documents and they've only got the G5 PPC's listed as approved. I imagine it will run on the G4 but I could be wrong?

I'm Looking forward to the 8.0 update but will I have to update my computer in order to do so as they'll only be approved on G5's too?

I don't think there is anything stopping you. But that would probably be a dog of a machine. I would stick to Tiger until you have a g5 and ultimately a first gen Intel Mac, even an intel Mac Mini would overpower most all G5's.

IT's a big performance increase in the Intel chip world.

Hi, i,m on a G4 myself running Tiger 10.4.9 with Pro Tools 7.4.3cs,
My understanding is this......
7.4.2 is the Pro Tools number that is compatible with Mac OS Leopard 10.5.3 or 10.5.4 (Combo Updater from Leopard first release 10.5)
See the foot of this link..
http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...8&itemid=32890
(Please note that Pro Tools 7.4.2 is compatible with Mac OS 10.5.3 and 10.5.4, and NOT earlier versions of Leopard)
So, Apple Mac minimum requirements for Leopard 10.5 is a G4 867MHz ppc according to this link...
http://www.apple.com/macosx/techspecs/
Apple gives Intel and G5 ppc and G4 ppc......BUT! i seem to recall reading that Digidesign Pro Tools 7.4.2 is Intel only.
I stand corrected if this is not the case.
I,m waiting to get a Mac Pro before going to PT8
