Can I have 16 channels of simultaneous recording inputs into Pro Tools LE if I ran an 002 R with all 8 analog inputs PLUS 8 additional inputs through the ADAT optical input via an 8 channel pre amp (Presouns DIGIMax - which has an ADAT Optical output)? What problems can I encounter?

You actually can have 18 at one time if you happen to have a key board or another instrument that has a spdif out.... You should not rally experience any problems - The only thing I ever run into is running out of CPU while tracking if I start loading up on Buss outs for headphones and or Plugs .... Other than that the system works great for live remote recording... Enjoy and have fun!

This is a very popular setup, and you shouldn't have any problems. It's the reason the optical port is there.
