Along with the Pro Tools software, a basic 'core' system should have:
1 Disk I/O card (with connections for SCSI and an Audio Interface)
1 DSP Farm card
1 TDM ribbon cable that connects to the piggybacks on the cards
1 Audio Interface (882 or 888)
1 cable that connects the Interface to the Disk I/O
1 cable that connects your SCSI drive(s) to the Disk I/O

Expanded systems could have more Disk I/Os, DSP Farms, Bridge I/O cards (when you wanted to add more Interfaces), as well as external sync devices like the SMPTE or Video Slave Drivers.

This link might help you identify what you've got...

I believe that 3.2 was the last rev that ran on the original (442) hardware.

The latest version of PT that can be run on the NuBus systems is 4.2.

If anyone in this post is interested I just upgraded to HD and have NuBus parts available. Extra DSP Farm cards, expansion chassis, etc.
