Default Digi001 Adat Clicks and Pops

Hi there peeps

I've been racking my brains lately with my old digi001. Basically im seeing and hearing clicks and pops. ive looked inside the pc with the adat connected and the little LED on the 001 card flickers off when the clicks occurs. When i record the click it looks like the soundcard is temporerly turning itself off and when it turns back on the click occurs.
Ive tried changing bit rates etc and it still happens. also tried just connecting the adat back into self using different channels to avoid feedback. and it still happens so i know it isnt my mixer. It doesnt happen on my analogue ins just my adat ins... and not on the outputs.

Is this the end of the line for my 001 or is there something simple ive missed....?

Thanks in advance...

Nick

it's to do with your sample rate. you need to set them the same. i think its in your hardware setups or something maybe someone can clarify

not only do they need to match, you need to set pro tools to take it's clock from adat. It is probably set to internal right now. Switch it to Adat.

It's also worth checking that your ADAT cables aren't damaged. I spent a long time trying to fix a very similar problem, only to find that it was a damaged optical cable.

Yeah the clock is set to external/ADAT and the click happens from channels 1 to 8... but it acually doesnt click as much on channel 1 for some reason... when i changed the buffer down to 128 it got a little better but still pretty bad. And the cables did seem the obvious one but i tried swapping and even buying a new optical and it still happens??

Try going to the hardware settings options.
Your default is internal timing.
You need to change it to ADAT. I had the same problem a little while ago.

.. you also have to ensure that the lightpipe is set to be used for ADAT and not TOS-Link (S/PDIF).
