Default Error Message: Directory not empty---help!!!!!

it won't let me delete a folder in my backup hard drive. i've been having some problems with this but i was wondering if there was some way that i could overide the error without having to format the drive.

you probably have some system or hidden files in that folder--what operating system? if not, then the file system could be corrupted and you need to fix that before trying to delete the folder.

I assume you stopped Pro Tools (which may have a handle open to the file/folder). Then go to the file explorer menu --> tools --> folder options and click view. make a note of whate is/is not checked (if you want to revert) then check all the boxes (or at least the ones that show hidden and system files, extensions, etc.). make sure there are no files. If you already tried this sorry --I don't know what level of expertise you have around Windows XP...
