New version of Melodyne 4 is the best tool I have ever used for tweeking everything audio.

I use Melodyne and that's my recommendation because not only sounds great but it is also super easy to understand and use, however I complement it with Vocalign so Revoice is on my wish list.

I have both melodyne and revoice pro, and i use revoice pro more.. also, the algorithms have been improved in V4...and it supports instant offline transfer both ways...

What it CAN'T do is polyphonic DNA style stuff.. This is the one and only reason I have melodyne as I have been able to reconstruct songs where I lost the midi files, which is amazing.

But personally, i've never been all that bothered with melodyne's pitch and time shift algos, just a personal thing, and I also find it can dull the sound.
There's quite a few of us that think melodyne quality is not that great, there's been a long discussion about it at other forums, but of course, just as many who love it. YMMV. If not using DNA, I see no advantage in using melodyne in DAW's that have their own proprietary solution, such as Cubase Vari Audio or Logic Flex Pitch.

Revoice Pro has a fantastic vocal doubler that beats any of the other doubling plugins, IMHO. I have tested them all, and revoice pro is actually believable. Like a real double.

Also, it can match pitch of one audio file to another.

For those who use vocal samples in their music, it's an easy way to get them in key..

I honestly think, the best of both worlds is to own both *if possible*.

Patience is the key, if money is tight. I was unable to afford revoice pro outright at any time, so bought a 3 month license every time they had a 30% sale, as they give you a full license on the 4th one. I was very lucky that I bought the 4th one when V4 came out and they gave me a full V4 license. That was only a 20% discount but was worth it for the one rental period.

Melodyne, I got a free essentials, then upgraded when they had a ridiculous sale to the full thing.. I paid both for melodyne studio and revoice pro, just a bit under revoice pro's normal price. It's all about patience and timing.

I recently upgraded from PT 12.7.1 to 2018.7 and found that my Melodyne 4 doesn't seem to be compatible with it now. Looking on Celemony's website, it appears they only go up to 12.8.1 for their compatibility. Anybody else here have that problem too?

As a result, l started looking into ReVoice 4 Pro. Looking pretty tempting with some of them cyber Monday deals. If I get ReVoice, does it make it more or less unnecessary to get VocAlign also? Or do they kinda do different things? (ReVoice says in their info that it is good for fixing timing, but they don't necessarily go all the way as to say it includes the abilities of VocAlign.)

Hi,

We use Melodyne 4 everyday on Mac Pro trashcans and MBP along with PT 2018.7 and works great. Celemony haven't updated their website for like 6 months so you can disregard that. If it doesn't load then something has gone wrong in your Mac.

Try trashing preferences and databases and reinstall Melodyne and see if that helps.

What error message do you get or is it just not there?

I was getting an error code -7054. And now that I think of it, really it said it just couldn't activate the plugin. At that, after closing out the error code, I noticed it actually was there in the insert slot but just deactivated, and couldn't be turned on.

Thanks again. I notice though that article said that process was only for Windows OS. I'm on a Mac. Not sure if it will apply here.

Yeah saw that too but as we had that same issue on the upgrade from HD12 to PTU 2018 we updated the ilok license manager, did a resync with the ilok from the ilok manager and that solved it for us. Maybe try that. I think it would be the same for Mac as we only use Mac machines here.
