Default Pro Tools 6.4 + XP (SP2)=Increase/Decrease H/W Buffer Size?

Im running DIGI001 with Pro Tools 6.4 on Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and have a recurring problem with H/W Buffer Size.

When I attempt playback/recording/bouncing I often get the message: 'Audio processing is conflicting with other CPU tasks. If this occurs often, reducing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine Dialogue may help prevent the problem (-9129)'

When I reduce the H/W Buffer Size from 1024 down to 512 and attempt again I get the message: 'The operating system held off interrupts for too long. If this occurs often, try increasing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine Dialogue. (-9093)'

And back and forth and back and forth....Very frustrating!!

I think it may be a compatibility issues with Pro Tools 6.4 and Windows XP Service Pack 2.

I know they are not supported.. Cant figure out how to remove SP2 or reconfigure my system to compensate..

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Hello try this..

Go to Start< Control Panel<add&remove programs<SP2<remove

Also to Control panel<system<advanced<performance<settings<advance d
Change to “background service” and “System Catch”

Also turn on the Digi BEFORE you turn on the computer..always

Hope this helps.
