Which aax plugs span multiple chips?

Also how many vi developers even care? When 98% of the market is native why would they bother to spend three years coding a dsp version which overcomes all the technical inabiilities of the hardware platform.

That's a great example in theory of what I think we might be after. Better latency and buffer settings by using some DSP. I use that Altiverb instance all the time...

I am just curious if it is possible to gain any advantages at all from a DSP/native hybrid VI. The answer could well be a resounding no. Would be great to know though...

I do not know. I just said that AAX plugs *CAN* span multiple chips.

FWIW It seems Altiverb is possibly going to be aax DSP ( albeit it appears non trivial to do )
