Default No VCA grouping in LE?

Am I missing something, or is there no VCA grouping in LE 7.3.1? PT HD 7.3.1 has it and it's a huge new feature...why is it not in LE?

PT HD version 7.2
New mixing and automation enhancements include VCA-style groups, pan grouping, plug-in parameter linking, flexible new automation modes and additional new functionality for ICON users, such as VCA fader spill, two-knob surround panning and much more.

Yes, the feature set between LE and HD is not the same. LE is cheaper for a reason!

Not having VCA grouping in LE seems like a blatant effort to shortchange LE users. I'd venture to guess that people who buy HD systems do so for their hardware needs, not because it has certain mixing features. I'm not going to run out and spend tens of thousands of additional dollars to get VCA grouping and enhanced mix features, but will upgrade when my clients start demanding surround mixes. I'm not a programmer but I'd be willing to bet that Digidesign disabled certain features just to make HD users feel like they were getting more for their money.

Exactly. Does that surprise you?

No, but it's annoying. Especially after the hype Pro Tools put out about LE having upgraded HD features. I was hoping for more enhanced mix statuses as well.

I can imagine the arguments at Digi about what to include or exclude in the LE version. I would guess things that make your session work faster would be excluded. After all, time is big money in an HD suite. Not so much in an LE room.
