Computer crash upon launch of newly installed 6.1

Hi all, I am trying to install protools on an office computer for use with sound design and music editing. I am on a G4 (not mirrored door) with dual 533 MHz processors, 768mb SDRAM using OSX 10.3.9. I have just uninstalled the old protools software after it failed to recognize the 001. So, after a successful reinstall of 6.1 (with restart) and trying to launch the program, the computer freezes and I get a message saying that the computer needs to be restarted. I have restarted a number of times and have yet to come up with a solution. Any ideas? Any help would be well appreciated.

OS X 10.3.4 is the latest version for 001. Go to digi web site, support, compatibility.

You can try the 6.4 LE update, which has Panther support, and is the last version available for the 001. 10.3.9 is specifically not recommended though, it was never approved by Digi b/c Quicktime 7 (which is usually installed with 10.3.9) sometimes causes unresovlable conflicts with PT and/or CoreAudio.
