Lovely on Upright Bass, too!

the ce-1 is a cool plugin and i like using it, but it doesn't sound anything like the pedal, of which i have two.

Love connecting the pedal's 2nd output to a 2nd amp, to create a huge sound which inspires, especially when practising at very low volume.
I agree the plug-in's different - I enjoy using it on 2 inserts with different settings panned apart, trying to re-create the pedal's magic.

I have an Ibanez analog multi FX rack unit from the late 70s that does compression, overdrive (the tube screamer circuit), phase, flange and stereo chorus plus has it's own FX loop. Digital modulation effects just can't do what this thing does. As mentioned above sending to 2 amps is so massive and rich. It sounds huge. I've used it quite a bit for outboard processing when plugs just don't cut it. A few years ago I had access to an analog Moog Ring Mod box and the Moogerfooger plug couldn't even come close, especially at 48 and 44.1 kHz. Modern modulating stomps use digital chips to phase, flange and chorus but just cannot sound like old analog circuits. I'm not usually one of those guys but for mod effects I make an exception.

The overdrive module has the same controls as a Tube Screamer and a friend & I A/B'd it with his early 80's Screamer and they were indistinguishable with identical settings.

Just for info, I like this Arturia Efx REFRACT very much. I tried it on some of my recordings and it can be added a very nice effect! I will try to add one example tomorrow.

the Valhalla stuff can do a lot, including some really nice modulated fx, and they're free. Super nice chorus.

Waves Kaleidoscopes has some cool Chorusing options along with many other mainstay modulation effects.
The "Choral" FX component that comes with Guitar Rig 6 & 7 is nice too. The older component "Flanger Chorus" (GR5) is nice too.

I know were talking chorus effects but the Phasis (phaser) component in GR6 & 7 is one of my favorites.

But definitely Wave Kaleidoscopes for its unique options.
