PT LE 10.3.8 and Mac Pro 2009 performance issues

I'm having performance issues with PT 10.3.8 together with my Mac Pro (2009, quad core 2,66GHz, 8GB RAM) under ML 10.8.5. This combination should be supported as far as I know. I've checked the following up until now:

- System Activity Monitor (nothing serious going on in the background)
- buffer size set to 1024 samples
- updated firmware of Motu 896 mkIII and changed interfaces
- system and disk check, no issues
- clean reinstall of OS 10.8.5 and PT 10.3.8

All application and OS seem to run smoothly exept for PT. Did anyone else experience similar problems?

I´ve been working on 10.6.8 and PT 10.1.x before and needed to update to a higher OS because of Waves V9, Action Strings (Kontakt 5 player) and some Maschine expansions wouldn´t run on SL anymore.

Can you be more specific about the problems you are having?

Just a heads up! LE was left at PT8 so you have just PT10 ( often referred to as the vanilla version)

Hi Chris,

thanks for your answer. Of course I can be more specific (forgot to mention the actual problem)! PT sessions are extremely slow/glitchy even without any tracks/plugins.

same problem here with 2009 mac pro protools 10.3.8 and osx 10.8.5...
