Dodgy Mac Date and Time
I have just changed over to Mac from PC and all is going well with pro tools, the only problem is every time I switch on my mac, the date and time have changed to anything from 1900's to 2040 ! It is getting really irritating. I changed the battery and als "zapped the p ram" but it still does it. Any ideas ?

Re: Dodgy Mac Date and Time
Are you setting the Date & Time Control Panel to the current time and also selecting a Time Zone? (whenever you zap the PRAM it defaults to no time zone and needs to be reset)

Re: Dodgy Mac Date and Time
Depending on the age of your computer, the watch battery that keeps the PRAM data alive when you turn off your mac may be dead. It looks like a watch battery on your motherboard.
if the pref. thing doesnt work, that may be why. Daniel |

Re: Dodgy Mac Date and Time
I had this same problem on my ibook for a while, but I trashed the Date and Time Preferences and then made sure my clock was not set to get it's time and date from a network, and it has worked fine ever since. Maybe this will help.

Re: Dodgy Mac Date and Time
There is a known bug with dates and time when you often switch between Mac OS 9.x and a certain version of OSX (10.1.3 or lower I think). The 2 clocks seem always out of sync, and fixing one in OSX makes the one in OS9 go mad and vice versa. I've had this problem for a long time, until I upgraded to the latest version of OSX.
Hope this helps Aloha
