Default loosing I/O\'s when I use a D24 on a MIX system

So, I have a system that runs fine with a mix core with two 888's and y cable on the core.
And it has two 888's on a y cable on a farm.
4 x 8 = 32 i/o
If I add a d24 card the I/o's dissapear from the farm card and the primary driver becomes
d24.

#1 is there a way to make MIX the primary driver.

#2 is there a way to not loose the I/O's on the farm card.

#3 does it change based on the # of dsp's I select.

Everything else runs perfect, xp2, 6.4.1

dump.

This should be an easy answer?

digidesign?

If I add the d24 card to the mix system, it doesn't allow me to use
the I/O's on the mix farm, basically maxing the D24 useless. I thought it allowed
more I/O's in this configuration...

Does it allow more I/O's when used in a MAC?

bump.

Digi? anybody?

Does it do this in a mac?

Anybody still using a mac hybrid?

Can anyone remember this far back?

I see no messages pertaining to this.

Whenever I add the D24 to the system; The I/O's work,

but I can't allocate the I/O's on 1 of the farm cards,

Basically making the D24 useless, and not making it worth wild.

My understanding is it's supposed to *add* two additional I/O's

and let me continue to use my Farm's I/O's as well.

Forget that last question - the problem is that the D24 is not supported with anything higher than Pro Tools 6.1.

So does this mean if I use 6.1 that it will work properly and the I/O's will show up?

FWIW, I have tried every possible slot combination with the same result.
