Default Newer G4/450 PCI upgrade card can\'t compatibal with 001??

I am running Digi 001 Protools LE on my PowerMac 9500 with NewerTech G4/450 upgrade card installed, and will freez in any moment with no reason. With no upgrade card installed then ProTools will run just fine but extreamly slow. I have no idea is this about compatibility of upgrade card and Digi 001 but the situation I have now is like what I've discribed.

This is my system
9500/newer G4 450
384mb RAM
Mac OS 9.1

hey, i have the exact same system...is your 9500 originally a 120 or 200mhz system....what your pci card configuration...any ultrawide stuff going down? ....more info needed.

i'm using 9500/120 w/ g4 450, running it on os 8.5.1 160 ram PT 5.1 40 ram to protools, 40 to DAE...disk cache set to 512...everything is grand...i'm not able to use the altivec engine with 8.5.1 but it still is fast enough. let me know more. I had the hanging blue's for a while...i'll try to get you going!

You have a memory issue because you bought a dud card. (Newer ceased operations recently btw)

The Newertech cards require a specific kind of memory. If your system does not have this memory you will get system locks.

Pull out your ram blocks,if they are 16244 (number will be printed somewhere on the chips) modules, you will have to remove them. This ram will exibit the system freezes.

Your card will only run with the more expensive so called dual dampened 162244 FPM Dimms.

Check out macgurus.com for more info
