touch status of fader after playback has been stopped
Hello, dear member of this conference,
I have been dealing with several studios that use digidesign control surfaces (C24 and C8) for voiceover recording and TV mixing. So now here's a problem that was new to me when not having a dedicated mixer: When I touch and keep holding a fader on a control surface, then stop and playback again, the PT/the controller doesn't remember that I'm still holding the fader. So on this next pass I will move the fader without it having any effect!! I know, the workaround would be to quickly get my finger off the fader, but is there anything better? I'm used to have a fader reflect any actual setting! I could live with it in mixing sessions, but when I use an input fader (an Aux Track routed to the records tracks) for gain riding during recording, I think it's a pain. How do you deal with this? Any smart hints? Does it also happen on an ICON? Felix
