I thought all the G4 Powerbooks had FireWire?

If it doesn't then your only option is an M-Box.

All Powerbook G4's have firewire. You must be using an old wallstreet powerbook G3. I think I remember that the Pismo was the first one with firewire and those machines were only running about 300MHz to start with. The wallstreets ran at about 266Mhz. That would mean you probably can't run OS X reliably (if at all). That would limit your capabilities to a system available in OS 9 which would be the original Mbox and a PTLE 5.1 installer disk.

It's a bit of a stretch and would be an extraordinarily limited system if it is indeed a wallstreet. You'd need to post more system specs to get any useful help here though. For instance, what is the processor speed, how much ram, and the current OS are very important.
