Default audio devices and core audio keeps resetting!

Hello,

system: g5
002 desk
OS: OS X 10.4.2
pro tools 6.9.2

Although the mac registers the 002 it quickly loses it when pro tools is booted up.

The core audio only recognises 002 when no programmes are running (is this normal?) If i leave the core audio manager open and then try to boot up pro tools it comes up with the dreaded pro tools being used by another application -1133! If i then close the coreaudio, pro tools does boot up but when i try to get coreaudio back it states that the 002 is not connected, yet i am getting a welcome screen on the 002?!

Similar things happen with the audio devices (applications -> utilities -> audio midi setup). It registers the 002 but when pro tools is booted up it resorts backs to built in audio without any option to change to 002!

Its ok to record audio but i can't get any midi sounds out. Midi registers on the sound meter and on the 002 but no sound out of the speakers..i believe this is related to the above problem?

please help!

I had pro tools 6.7 and had constant 1133 messages, this was sorted out with update to 6.9.2, but then the above problem happened. I did have OS X 10.4 and today updated to 10.4.2 thinking it may help but unfortunately not...

Thanks...

Have you installed the CS2 update to Pro Tools 6.9.2 yet?

CS2 updates Core Audio to work properly on Tiger. If you haven't updated yet, installing the CS2 version should clear up your problems.

Hello,

Have downloaded pro tools 6.9.2cs2 but it makes no difference. Same problem as before cannot hear midi and midi default sounds setting are put back to internal audio not digi 002.

I cannot work out why...it makes no sense...

Ok, are you still having problems with the -1133 error and other Core Audio issues?

The reason you can't 'hear your midi' is that MIDI is just data - there is no sound associated with it. You need to route that MIDI data to an internal software synth or an external hardware synth so that the synth can play back the MIDI data.

Since I cannot see what is happening on your system, you MUST be specific about what you've tried, the results you're seeing and any issues that you're still encountering.
